These two! They are seriously some of the sweetest people I have met! They are so adorable together!! We had so much fun during their engagement session at Campbell Valley Park in Langley. I think my favourite part of the session may have been when I got them to do a spin. They might not be the most graceful people so it definitely brought out a lot of giggles! :)
In just one week they will be walking down the aisle at Triple Swaan Nurseries in Abbotsford. I can't wait to see them again!!
Ok, ok so this one might be a little overdue. Ok, a lot overdue. Sydney's birthday might have been in April. Oops!
As you know, Sydney has become a good friend of mine over the last couple years. I am always so excited to get to spend the day with her. we have so much fun together!! For her birthday she planned a full day of shooting out in Vancouver. Not long before the shoot she found out that she won a giveaway from some amazing Vancouver vendors so she decided to include it in her shoot!
Our first stop was at the amazing Jasmine Hoffman's (http://www.jasminehoffman.com/) for hair and makeup! Jasmine is like this little tiny ball of sunshine and butterflies! Haha, I always love getting to see her. I think Sydney really enjoyed the pampering too!!
Once hair and makeup was done we headed outside for few shots with the gorgeous cherry trees before heading to my favourite jewellery place for Sydney to pick up the adorable pink drop earrings she won...
I met Michelle from Michelle Banich about a year and a half ago. I was photographing her cousins wedding, and she was doing the makeup. We decided to plan some shoots together. I can't even remember what our first shoot was, but I know I have loved everything we've done together! I feel like Michelle has a mind similar to mine, a little out there ;)
Because of busy schedules we usually plan shoots fairly last minute. This snow queen shoot with the gorgeous Carli Hall was no exception. I think we planned it a couple days before. We just thought we would throw Carli in her prom dress in the snow.
On the morning of the shoot Michelle texted me a picture of a snow queen looking headpiece, and was like, "Oooh, we should do this!" Haha, it was like 2 hours before we were supposed to start shooting. Sooo off to Micheals and Winners I went. I found a bunch of supplies, and once we put it together I was super impressed!! It actually looked VERY similar to the one Mich...
My first wedding of 2017!! I was sooo looking forward to this one. I hadn't had a wedding since early November and I really miss them in the off season. They truly are my favourite to photograph.
When Tamra and Cody booked me for their big day, I decided that Adam and Mikail would come as well and we could make a mini vacation out of it. Snowboarding isn't Jaeden's thing so he stayed home with my parents. :)
We drove up Friday after Adam got off of work. The weather was BEAUTIFUL. There was a gorgeous sunset, and I was trying to decide where the best spot would be for sunset photos on Friday. Saturday morning we woke, and I saw that it wasn't nearly as nice as Friday. It was overcast so I thought, ok perfect. No sunset but we won't be limited by bright midday sun. Well by the time I arrived at the girls room for getting ready shots, it was snowing. A LOT. There was a crazy amount of fog, and it was very windy!
I know I say it a lot but I am so lucky that I always get the most amazing clients! One of the many things that I love about being a wedding photographer is that I often continue friendships with my brides and grooms even after the wedding. Lindsey and Spencer are 100% in the category of continuing friendship clients!! Even though their wedding was almost a year ago, and they live 4 hours away, we continue to keep in touch.
I didn't have the opportunity of meeting these Lindsey and Spencer until the day of the wedding. We had been keeping touch through email and the occasional phone call. As soon as I met Lindsey I could tell that we would get along well!! She is so fun! You can't help but smile when you're around her. She had me laughing the whole day. And Spencer, well he is a lot quieter than Lindsey, but I loved that. They definitely compliment each other!!
You can see that they two different personalities really stand out in the pictures. Linds...
I am so glad I finally have some time to share all of last years amazing weddings!!! And I know Tori is dying for me to post this blog!
Tori and Gage's wedding was a very memorable one for me. When I told Tori I was prepping this post, I told her that just looking through the pictures brought back such clear memories. So many of the moments of the day were unforgettable for me. From Tori's nerves kicking in while getting her dress on, to her dad and brother seeing her for the first time, to the speeches, to the dancing! I enjoyed every single minute!!
There are a few things that really stood out for me about these two. When we first met, Tori told me about her brother and that he has down syndrome. She talked about how special he is to her, and to Gage. This hit close to home for me, being a mom of someone with special needs myself. Plus, I had worked with children with special needs for years. I will always have a soft spot for people like this. It was s...
I was looking through my wedding blog posts recently and thought, oh my goodness I need to update those! I am the worst at blogging my weddings! I think it's because I have such a hard time choosing images. Holly and Kyle's backyard wedding from last summer was definitely no exception. I sure hope you like my images because you are about to scroll through a lot of them! ;) You have to make sure you go to the end though, because their first dance images are AMAZING!! First dance at sunset?? Yes please!!!!
I first met Holly and Kyle when I photographed Holly's sisters wedding in 2014. I immediately fell in love with the whole family! They are the sweetest and most caring family. They all have such a strong bond. I was so so excited when Holly contacted me to do her wedding.
Holly and Kyle put so much time and thought into their big day. I actually popped by the day before to see how things were coming along. The house was covered with flowers an...
When it comes to big styled shoots, I generally try to think of unique themes, something you don't see every day. I have always loved the steampunk style, and thought it would be really neat to do a steampunk glam shoot. For those of you that don't know, steampunk is "a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery." (thank you wikipedia!!) I wanted to use steampunk as a theme but keep the glitz and glam of a wedding. Industrial feel but with elegance. I always have loved the contrast of glam meets industrial or urban :)
When it came to choosing vendors, it was not hard to decide. There was a number of talented women I was eager to work with, and they were eager to team up on something different than what they have done before. Thank you to everyone for putting in so much hard work and time. And thank you for Fab You Bliss for publishing our shoot! Check ou...
I wrote about Caitlin Fladager last week on the blog. She came to me for a boudoir session. Not long after I had the opportunity to meet her whole little family for a chilly winter shoot.
If you have not heard of Caitlin, let me tell you a bit of her back story. She is just 23 and is married to her high school sweetheart, Noah. Her and Noah met when they were 16, had their first child (a daughter) at 19, got married at 20, and had their second child (a son) at 21. A few years ago Caitlin posted a video of a collage of images of her and Noah throughout the years, and it went viral! Since then she has attained hundreds of thousands of followers on both Facebook and Instagram.
Her and Noah now share moments of their lives on social media as inspiration to other young families. They not only share the good, but also talk about the work that goes into a marriage, and raising a family.
What I love about them both is that despite their inter...
As I'm writing this post, it is heavily snowing outside...again! We have had 4 straight days of snow now. I think this may actually be the most snow I can remember coming at once. I cannot believe it. I thought we were done with snow for the year!! As much as I LOVE the gorgeous images we get in the snow, I do not love being stuck in my house for days at a time. Hopefully I will get out soon and be able to take some more gorgeous shots, like these ones of Kenny and Jessica.
Jess and Ken were married on New Years Eve and contacted me just a few days later to do some shots of them in the snow with their wedding attire. I was soooo in love with Jess' dress!!! Is it not gorgeous?!?! I love the colour! And the style is so flattering on her! She brought along a vintage shawl that actually belonged to her grandmother. It is so neat when clients have something of such sentimental value to be included in their pictures :)
